Tips for improving video quality

This is a tip for anyone who has an Intel or AMD/ATI graphics card. These manufacturers enable certain video ‘enhancement’ features by default in their drivers. The problem is that those features actually reduce quality instead of making things better.
It is thus recommended to disable these features. This should improve both quality and performance. You can find the relevant options in the control panel of your graphics card. You can usually find a shortcut to that control panel by right-clicking on your Desktop. Options that you should disable are: “Noise reduction”, “Adaptive contrast”, “Dynamic Contrast”, and “Edge Enhancement”. The number of options and their names can vary depending on the Manufacturer and driver version. Visit our forum if you need assistence.
If you got a powerful graphics card then you could also try madVR in combination with MPC-HC. madVR is an advanced video renderer that is able to produce better quality than the standard renderers from Windows. Configuring madVR for optimal quality/performance can be a bit complex for novice users, so we only recommend using it if you got a decent amount of computer knowledge.
